Navigating international logistics can be a daunting task, especially when it comes to shipping heavy machinery such as diggers, across borders. At International Plant Sales, we understand the importance of reliable shipping solutions, which is why we’re proud to share the success story of our recent endeavour: loading and shipping three Komatsu PC80 mini diggers to Spain. Join us as we take you behind the scenes of this seamless shipping process, highlighting our commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction every step of the way.
What is the Shipping Process at International Plant Sales?
Step 1: Preparation and Planning
Before the diggers could embark on their journey to Spain, thorough preparation and planning was essential. We discuss the meticulous steps involved in preparing the equipment for transport, including documentation, customs clearance, and scheduling. Our dedicated team ensures that all logistical aspects are carefully managed to avoid delays and streamline the shipping process. We also ensure the machines are fully inspected and up to standard in time to be shipped. This can include fresh paintwork, repairs, and all-round maintenance.
- Step 2: Loading and Securing
With preparations complete, it’s time to load the PC80’s onto the transport vehicle for their journey to Spain. Upon the lorry’s arrival, all necessary paperwork and checks were completed before any machinery was handed over. After this was cleared, we could bring the machines over and begin tracking them into the lorry, along with a number of buckets and attachments, as requested by the customer.
Once the machines are safely docked inside the transport vehicle, the drive secures the machinery into place with straps and blocks to ensure a safe journey to the destination. We liaise with the customer throughout the process and update them with pictures for optimum peace of mind.
- Step 3: Awaiting Arrival
Once the machines are on their route to the destination, we wait patiently for updates, and then confirmation of arrival. We often receive prompt updates from customers when they receive their machinery, such as photos of arrival, which is something the team loves to see!
