So you’re looking at our used construction equipment for sale, and wondering where the construction machinery originally comes from, and the condition it gets delivered in?
All of our used construction machinery is sourced from our sister companies H.E. SERVICES (Plant Hire) Ltd, and Diggerland Theme Parks. The construction equipment is purchased from new for both of these companies, and the H.E. Group operates on a three year policy. New construction machinery is purchased every three years or so for these companies, and then it is passed on to our sales team at International Plant Sales, formerly BuyADigger, to then be sold to customers in the UK and internationally.
When the used construction machinery arrives at International Plant Sales, a 40 point Safety Inspection check sheet is carried out by the Plant Hire Depot workshop fitters. Used Skid Steers and construction machinery that arrives from the Diggerland Parks are put through the workshop here at International Plant Sales.
To give you an insight into what is looked at during the safety inspection, when machinery is passed over us, we check:
- Hydraulic Pipework
- Hydraulic Rams Fluid Levels
- Lights and Bulbs
- Wipers
- Seat Belts
- Door/Window Catches
- Glass Screens
- Fuel Lines
- Brake Efficiency
- Steel Shoe Tracks / Rubber Pads
- Wheels and Tyres
- Telescopic Boom
- Hydraulic Quick Hitch System and much more.
The International Plant Sales sales team ‘check in’ the machine with a member of the Plant Hire Depot, going through the check sheet together. This will ensure and confirm the machine is in full working order before being handed over to International Plant Sales to then be resold on. During this inspection a 360 degree walk around of the machine is carried out to identify any machine panels and parts that may require repairing and repainting, before it is then listed on our website.
The next step would be to fully steam clean the used construction machinery to remove any dirt and debris. At this stage we also remove any H.E. SERVICES (Plant Hire) Ltd or Diggerland company stickers in readiness for new machine model stickers to be affixed. Once completed, the machine is then checked over a second time, to ensure nothing has been missed. It is then serviced by the International Plant Sales workshop fitter.
PAINTSHOP
Once the used machinery has been fully handed over to us and checked, the machinery is ready for any painting that may be required. It is then promptly booked into our professional paint shop, The Finishing Touch, also part of the H.E. Group. The Finishing Touch carry out Dent Removal, Repairs and Refurbishments and Bodywork repair for all Plant and Heavy Construction Equipment. They undertake work for H.E. SERVICES (Plant Hire) Ltd, Diggerland, International Plant Sales as well as any projects for any third party plant hire companies.
Generally the used construction machinery that comes from our sister companies, only needs touching up and a paint job to make them good as new and ready for sale.Once the painting process is complete we then refit the construction equipment for sale with machine model stickers where necessary. Typically on the Komatsu excavators, new stickers are fitted to each side of the boom arm and the counter weight. In cases where panels have been painted, The Finishing Touch may need to re-fit the machine model sticker, for example our PC138 US-10 used excavators. Our in-house fitter will then fully grease all greasing points, check the oil and water levels and place the machine in stock.
TRANSPORTATION
If you are in the UK or are located internationally, we can also arrange a quote for transportation as well for you. We can use our own transport units that can deliver to the UK and to UK Ports. We also have trusted and very experienced, freight forwarding suppliers to take your machine to its final destination.
